While there are 84 Main Chakras and many more beyond that count, for our purposes we are referencing the Seven Chakra System, which comprises seven energy centers, or spinning wheels residing in the main channel of our body. SACRAL CHAKRA- THE BASICS
The Sacral Chakra lies at the bottom of our navel and is associated with our kidneys, reproductive systems, our sensuality, emotions, creativity and our sense of adventure!
The Goddess of power, fertility, and fidelity, Parvati, governs the Sacral Chakra according to ancient Hindu wisdom. Of course, when this powerful chakra is in full glory it emits divine feminine energy and its element is water which so beautifully intersects beauty, power, fluidity, strength and creativity. The Sacral Chakra, when open and balanced, is a vibrant orange color, represented by a lotus flower with six petals.
The beautiful Sanskrit name for this water element is Svadhisthana, which means "the establishment of your being”, and explains this energy center’s relationship tojoy, sexuality, intimacy, and pleasure.
When our Sacral Chakra is Open and Balanced there is a deep connection to these life enhancing qualities, which include:
-Your inner child and your healthy emotions
-The non-permanence principle, waning and waxing things, and birthing environments
-Free expression and creativity
-Receiving or giving pleasure, sexual intimacy, and sensuality
When our Sacral Chakra is blocked or not clear, we may experience some of the following conditions:

SACRAL CHAKRA- SELF-EXAMINATION
In order to help identify if your Sacral Chakra needs your loving attention, find a quiet space, take a few deep clearing breaths and ask yourself a few questions. Take note of where you seem to feel stuck in within your body which can assist you in identifying potential blocks you may have in your Sacral Chakra:
-Do you feel life is easy for you, or does everything feel like a struggle and challenge?
-Does jealousy often get to you?
-Are you content, or are you always wishing for more in life?
-Are you in codependent relationships? If you are, how do you manage those?
-While doing things for others, are you doing them to win their love or approval or as thoughtful gestures?
-Do you have to perform tasks or things you don't enjoy?
-Do you often do things you truly enjoy?
-Are you sensual and creative?
-Do you have certain prohibited areas in which you do not allow yourself to enjoy pleasure?
-Are there areas where you allow yourself to feel pleasure?

-Abdominal issues in your lower-pelvic region
-Complications in your kidneys or bladder
-Finding intercourse painful

-Suffering from reproductive problems, such as ovarian cysts

BALANCING THE SACRAL CHAKRA- WHAT YOU CAN DO
If you find blockages in your Sacral Chakra, there is good news. We can take certain measures to realign our powerful energy centers. Some handy tools for balancing and clearing your emotional, pleasure, and creative expressions include:
-Incorporating the use of affirmations as a regular practice.
-Giving your creative side more space to create.

-Release and unburdening your emotional baggage. A powerful exercise for this is to write in a journal.
-The lotus flower represents the Sacral Chakra as a water element. For this reason, you can spend a couple of leisurely hours sitting in the pool, by the sea or swimming. You could even prepare a beautiful bath area at home with essential oils, candles, and flower petals to balance, clear and heal your Sacral Chakra.
FOODS FOR HEALING SACRAL CHAKRA
If you wish to revive and balance your Sacral Chakra by making healthy changes to your diet, you could include specific food items. These include items that are rich in fatty acids, such as nuts, fish, and seeds like sunflower, pumpkin, hemp, sesame, poppy, and flax.
